Jumping into the Fall!
The fall schedule is now on the web! I can't wait. This schedule took some thought and wiggling to get the most out of the available time we have. I am so grateful to North Cross and our dance room will soon be painted with mirrors and a ballet barre. We are really coming along! Can't wait for you to come join us!

Excited About the Summer!
I met a family this week that has enrolled their children in my camps and it got me so excited for the next couple of months! Most studios calm down over the summer. We are just the opposite. Arts camps, theater camp, dance camps, recital on June 22nd, new sessions starting July 15th. On top of those things, I am working with the YMCA to schedule some classes at their Parkville location to start this summer and am teaching arts and theater classes at St. Therese's summer camps. And the best part is, I am loving every minute of it! Let the excitement begin!

Rough Around the Edges
I have not been posting lately and have found myself busy with quite a bit. So this morning, with my muffin, water, and trusty dog by my side, I am taking a few minutes to write. This morning I have been laying awake in bed trying to figure out how to make sure our studio is the best possible but still adhere to the belief that I can do this without going into debt. Paying for everything as money comes means that I need to trust that my students and their parents see that we are a little rough around the edges until I can afford the fancy studio and the large mirrors and big advertising budget. This is not so easy. Conveying to families that their children will get an amazing education in a place that doesn't look like your typical studio yet is tough. But I'm praying and the students are starting to come. I guess there is some good in this that I can use to teach my students. I am showing them the value of waiting for the reward in a society of need it now. I have one student who loves to ask every day, when are we getting real floors or why are these walls not painted yet. Its a teaching moment. And it was so amazing to see her face last night when she walked in to see the new floors are finally there. So be quiet, brain! And accept that God will provide both the finances and the families that believe in why I'm doing this in the first place. We are a revolutionary way of teaching the arts after all!

Thankfully Typing
The new studio location is coming along fabulously! I am ever so greatful for what God has gifted me through the wonderful people who have helped make this dream of mine a reality. Sitting here tonight, updating my website and answering emails, has made me smile with each click. When I am not teaching, the next best thing is promoting and developing.

Motivation Monday
I know I sometimes need a pick me up on Mondays so I look to Pinterest, of all places, to find some inspiration and motivation. I'll share a little with you on this fine Monday.

Ramping things Up
For the last month or so I have been focusing on only studio stuff and my health. Now I have accepted the position of Youth Director for North Cross United Methodist (yeah!) and have been subbing a ton for Park Hill School District and working on studio fabulousness, my health seemed to take a bit of a back seat. But no more. No surrey Bob (or Francis or whoever reads this lovely note)! I am back on track and dancing my way back to a smaller waist line and overall health. I am through with the fast food junk again and Coke, beware! You are going away before long too! I want to show my kiddos that you can do what you put your mind to.
Speaking of do what you put your mind to, I am embarking on another goal that will set Revolutions Arts Center on a path to financial fabulousness. I will have 25 new students ready to start classes at our new location in Parkville on Saturday March 2nd. I am looking into marketing ideas and am going to assert my way to success! Just you watch. I'll keep you updated on this goal as February goes.
Healthy body, healthy soul, healthy business, healthy goal, here we go!

Donations Galore
I sent out a request a couple of days ago for donations of dance leotards and shoes for those students that are not able to pay for the items. I don't want there to be any obsticals for those who want to learn to dance. The respoonse has been so wonderful! I am making a day of picking up all the items next Thursday. Kansas City people are so generous. I am blessed to be living in this area. What other ways can I help those little ones that are not able to dance? I have to pay my bills and teaching for free would not help me but I strive to provide quality programming for a small amount of money. I would love your ideas!
